1940s
The 1940s was a big year for advancement in communication. The first public telephone came out in the 1940s. The popular model was the Rotary. The telephone changed the way of communication in a better and more efficent way. This is an advancement in technology and in communication from the 1930s. Like the 1930s the radio was still used often to listen to news, commercials, etc. Also mail and newspaper was still used as communication but not as much. In present time mail and newspaper are used every single day form communication. Also in this decade the television, telegraph, and teletype were first made and in retail for people to buy and use. The television also known as t.v. for short was the most popular item in this decade. The tv was a very effective way of communication because people could watch events happening around the world in there own home! They could engage in political events or just watch the daily news. This is unlike the 1930s because there was no telephone in the 1930s but it is also alike because in the 1940s the radio was still a common way of communication and also the newspaper and mail is also a form that is still used.
